Pew pew BOOM!!
The Enclave plasma pistol was orginally developed by the Pre-War Federal government, the prototype of which was stolen and later reclaimed.
Plasma weapons in general seem to be favored by the Enclave. During the later years of the Enclave's presence in the Wasteland, in this case the Capital Wasteland, this pistol was adopted as the state of the art in favor over the presumably outdated Glock 86 Plasma Pistol and saw heavy use by Officers as standard issue equipment. This weapon was also issued to the elite Hellfire Troopers as a sidearm.
